Are you interested in law school or studying pre-law? Want to gain an edge in the law school application cycle? Come join Blackstonians, USC’s premier Pre-Law Honor Society. Blackstonians recognizes academic excellence in undergraduate students and strives to expand their knowledge and perceptions of the legal profession. Students have access to a variety of resources that will enable them to prepare for and succeed in law school.

Blackstonians is a great way to gain exposure to different legal careers, and meet other pre-law students on campus. Each semester, we host guest speakers from various aspects of the legal field, alumni panels, and networking events with other pre-law organizations at USC.
Highlights from the 2023-2024 academic year, included...
- Fall & Spring Semester Welcome Dinners for new members
- Information Session with Director of Admissions for USC Gould School of Law
- Law School Admissions Panel (invited to attend by USC Phi Alpha Delta, Pre-Law Fraternity) with admissions representatives from Yale Law, UT Austin Law, and Georgetown Law.
- Blackstonians Alumni Panel with alums attending/who have attended Harvard Law, Columbia Law, Georgetown Law, and USC Law
- Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) website walkthrough
- LSAT Workshops
- Blackstonians crewneck sweatshirts
As we celebrate our centennial anniversary in Spring 2023, we will also join the Journal of Law and Society (our sister organization) in their journal launch party and have an end of the year banquet.
Membership Requirements
To be considered for membership, students must have a minimum USC GPA of 3.50. Students also must have sophomore standing (32 units), but not more than 118 units. Advanced Placement (AP) and/or dual enrollment credits can be used to fulfill the 32 unit requirement.
Transfer students may apply if they have completed 16 units at USC and have junior standing (64 units)
All majors are eligible to join the honor society. Students close to these requirements are encouraged to apply, as exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates.
